Your New Year' s Resolutions AINT SHIT....

they ain't shit!!  If i made some...they wouldn't be shit either!!!



Why?? Cuz I said so.  Ok but for real!! By now you've likely already made your resolutions and that's fine...do you boo boo *kevin hart voice*  I wish you the best and all.....*insert kanye joke*

but...what is it about the new year that makes you feel the need to set new goals (let's be honest) that you won't attain.  It seems as though you're setting yourself up for failure.  I see so many people hurriedly starting things in May...even November because they made a resolution in January.  No Ma'am sir.....dont do it to yourself.

And why wait until the ball drops to start something if its sooooo important to you.

For example:  "I'm deleting xyz from facebook/ twitter/ myspace /aim /tumblr /blackplanet /bbm/myphone (someone still uses some of those and YOU KNOW THEM) at Midnight....I didn't need you anyway"

Ummmmm......why wait....delete them now.  You'll probably be drunk at midnight...and wont delete them...or you'll drunk text/tweet/bbm/message/poke whatever them...or you really weren't gonna do it at all...and you wont...so you FAILED!!!

Example 2: "I'm gonna lose weight in 2011"

this is the most used and abused resolution ever.  The gym stays DEEP in the new year.  Best of luck to all who want to and are trying to lose weight but don't set unrealistic goals for yourself just because its new years...just do you and get it done as you can!!

Example 3: "20XX is gon' be MY YEAR" ...................................*DEEPER SIGH* I'm tired of every year being EVERYBODY'S YEAR!!!  Again....if its gonna be ...its gonna be....no need to profess it.....cuz you'll be at the end of next year talmbout how 20XX sucked and 20XY is REALLY gon' be YOUR YEAR!!!

But for real...why leave til tomorrow what you can do today....and why set yourself up for failure.  Count your blessings for the year past and just hope to grown and prosper the next year in whatever way you can....

but if it makes you feel any better............some of your resolutions are cool.............but most of em still ain't shit!!!

Hello Lover...........2011 How art thou???

This is my year in review:

Well here we are at the end of another year.  2010 was good....if not great even.  A lot of things happened.....good and bad but as I look over the year the good outweighed the bad.

I started off the year road tripping!!! Excellent!!  Drove to VA Beach then flew to ATL for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday and visit another homie!!

No one in the DC area can forget Snowpocalyspe or GTFOHWTSnowBS as I like to call it.....shit was ridiculous.  However, I enjoyed a week to myself in my apartment!!  I should have been studying but ...I didn't...just relaxed. lol

Jan-March was crazy in terms of studying for my Grad School Comprehensive exam but it was worth it.  I even got in my first Ski Trip with my Line Sisters (too much fun) and another trip to VA Beach during the homie's Spring Break.

I met a new guy....he got cut!! Just weren't compatible enough.....and I had no patience for that at that time.

April....found out I passed my comprehensive exams.........THEREFORE.....i would be graduating from GW with my MASTERS OF FORENSIC SCIENCE IN MAY!!! woo hoo!!! yall know I was hyped.

May....flew my sisters up for my graduation and had a ball.  Flew back to the A-State with them to see my baby sister graduate from High School.

After graduation I was UNEMPLOYED.....but I made the best of it.  I started off with a Memorial Day trip to VA Beach....fun.  Then I made several more trips to VA Beach and even went to Atlanta/Athens, Georgia for a week for my birthday (ROAD TRIP).  It was great!!! I absolutely love my friends for all the fun and support during my FUNemployment!!! I love all yall!!!

I turned 25 on my Birthday and decided I needed to live my life for no one else but me....I also made a similar realization in 2005....but this was related to my personal life.  lol
I decided that I was missing something in my life....so I decided to get it back!! :-)

In September I got a full time job which let me be able to remain in the DC Area.....I was able to move to a better apartment with my line sister who was coming back to the country after 3 years in the United Arab Emirates.

I've met some new friends....joined a new book club....been extremely happy....cut off all my permed hair and went completely NATURAL ....                

celebrated my High School's 200th Anniversary....found the best church family in the DC Area (Reid Temple AME)...welcomed my line sisters daughter into the world...and spent time with friends and family!!!

This year has been great!!! Even during the rough times......everything was just as it should be!! I'm blessed!!!

And last but not least...in the last year my blog has grown tremendously!!! And I'd like to thank you ALL!! I appreciate your support!! Thanks!!!!

*ahem* Firstly....i would like to say...is it me or is 2010 about to be EVERYBODY AND THEY MAMA'S YEAR....are people like this EVERY year and its just so noticeable because Twitter AND facebook are Poppington right about now.......let me know........cuz like @dscribefreeman said, "IN" is gonna be pretty crowded because everyone is talking about going there in 2010. lmao. ok...back to the point.


THE LAST DECADE....

For me has been amazing. 10 years ago, little did I know that my WHOLE LIFE was about to change. In 2000, I would be accepted into A Better Chance...then The Lawrenceville School and actually decide to leave Arkansas and go. The Lawrenceville School was the best decision of my life. Nothing has topped it because if it wasn't for Lawrenceville, i wouldn't have had to opportunity to do all the things that I have done since. I'm thankful for all the things I've been able to do and all the people I've met because of it. This includes L'Ville and GW/DC folks because if it wasn't for L'Ville, I wouldn't know GW existed!!! Forreal....so 10 years ago...my life changed for the absolute best...and I'm eternally grateful!!!!! WOOOOO!!!


THE LAST YEAR....

Has been amazingly crazy...a lot has happened that has changed my life. I'll name a few thing!!

*I JOINED TWITTER
*I LOST 20-30LBS (60-70 overall) (the old fashion way)
*I MET AN AMAZING NEW SET OF FRIENDS AND RECONNECTED WITH SOME OLD FRIENDS (yall know who you are...but basically i got back in touch w/ a cpl l'ville ppl and my HU CREW IS DEEEEEEEEEEEEEPer now...and TOP 5 is popping)
*I COMPLETED ALL MY COURSEWORK FOR MY MASTERS DEGREE!!! (just gotta defeat comprehensive exams)
*MY LINESISTERS AND I MADE IT A POINT TO SEE EACH OTHER AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH
*I FELL IN AND OUT OF LOVE
*I GOT A WII (don't judge me)
*I GOT AN IPHONE
*I STARTED BLOGGING....

There's more but I'll leave it at that.......but yes...I'm ready and excited for 2010 and the new decade....

Looking back, i really realize how wonderful this one has been and despite a lot of craziness, this year has been amazing too!!! I wish you all the best in the new year...and new decade.
