Many of us had heard about Shannon some time ago when she was diagnosed with AML. As the tiny star of The Lion King on Broadway portraying Nyla, Shannon was on her way to stardom. Her case got a lot of celebrity attention and the search for donors was extensive but no match was found. Matches are hard to find for minorities as there aren't a lot of donors signed up and Shannon happens to be African American and Dominican.
There's no reason an 11 year old should have to die from something like this yet alone anybody because donors couldn't be found.
I'm not currently registered but I'm definitely going to find out about it and so should you. The initial tests require no more than a mouth swab!!
You may never be needed or you could save a life!!
