Now I have several opinions about the video below. This chick is going on a rant about the "Pretty Girls" video as many folk have been doing since it premiered last week.
But here is the video....my commentary below.
So one......she sounds like a FOOL!!
With that out of the way...No Wale probably didnt have much control over the casting...why they have casting directors. And if he was white...most white folks arent privy to the "complexion" issues within in the community so having black people was enough for the director.
I've yet to see Wale's video but I'm sure they were going for a wide ethnic mix of folk. IDK just speculation.
Again...not having seen the video...but how does the lightskin girl who proclaims herself to be 100% Jamaican just look at the video and KNOW some of those other girls are mixed. Like I said...I havent seen it. But as we all know black folks come in every shade under the sun...so i'm just sayin.
Anyway....give the brother a break. If you want to be mad...be mad at the casting director. If you just need to be angry.
And since when do you need BET to show you the much needed imagery of Black women. BET is not the venue. I'd rather see no black chicks in the videos and see them on shows as doctors, lawyers, wives, mothers, and everything else we truly represent.
Learn to fight a better fight...being present in a GOTDAMN music video isnt a cause i can jump up and rally behind....SORRY!!!
