Rihanna's "Man Down" Controversy

So this morning, I heard reports that Rihanna was getting a lot of backlash for her "Man Down" video as were the stations who were willing to play the video.

The main complaint I heard was concerning the man being shot in the head at the beginning of the video. Personally, I had no problem with the video. Maybe there should be a disclaimer at the beginning noting that the video is graphic but that's about it. Not to spoil it if you haven't watched it..... but watch it real quick........

waiting....

OK ....the guy clearly raped her and she was so hurt, distraught and such that she killed him. This is why our society has so much victim blaming going on.  You condemn showing one act of violence but not another.  I haven't heard complaints about her "suggesting" that a rape happened.  Also, in her son its not as though she says she supports what she did. She knew it was wrong but it was all she could do not to go crazy essentially is how it plays out.

What do you think? Should they not have shown the shot? Is a disclaimer enough? Is this a sign victim blaming will never get better?
